- iOS and Android mobile Surf builds are native WebKit/WebView browser shells for Hottub search, Hottub Find, and ordinary web navigation.
- The Chrome companion replaces the new tab page and adds a Surf omnibox keyword for Hottub/web navigation.

## Voice Privacy
On-device voice search: Surf's microphone input is processed locally with a bundled Whisper model. We do not use browser, OS, or third-party cloud speech recognition for transcription. Temporary audio is discarded after processing.

## Trust Boundaries
- Do not say public signed downloads are available until the manifest exposes an available asset URL, checksum, and signed release notes.
- Do not describe mobile Surf builds as shipping on-device voice transcription unless the mobile app itself adds that runtime.
- Do not claim that no data ever leaves the device; use the narrower on-device transcription wording for microphone audio.
- Do not describe Hottub Surf as a closed in-app browser. The intended product is a real browser for Hottub and the open web.
