No. A free verified business can load a Sponsorship Balance and sponsor. A paid Business subscription is optional — it adds multi-location, team seats, campaign CSV export, and hands-on tools.
As clearly labeled placements — an attribution chip in the room header, and sponsored cards in side rails — not popups or takeover banners. In VR rooms it’s woven into the scene (a shore sign, a gallery placard) rather than floating over it.
Local by default. Your sponsorship shows to members near your verified location, and you choose how far it travels — within 10, 25, 50, or 100 miles, or Everywhere for regional and national reach. The same room shows each viewer the sponsor most local to them, so a national sponsorship far away never blocks a local one near you. We use a viewer’s rough area only to pick which sponsor shows: never precise location, never a profile, nothing stored about who saw what.
