What we ask of each other
Keep it warm
- Be kind, curious, and genuine. Assume good faith.
- Make room for newcomers — Hosts and Lifeguards help everyone feel welcome.
- Reciprocate — show up, follow up, and be the kind of company you’d want.
Keep it consensual
- Connection is opt-in. There are no open DMs by default.
- Introductions happen by mutual agreement.
- Respect a no. Anyone can decline, mute, block, or step out at any time — no explanation owed.
Keep it safe
- No harassment, hate, threats, or doxxing.
- No deception, scams, or impersonation.
- Never share someone else’s private information or location.
- Report anything that feels off — reporting is always one tap away.
Keep it real and lawful
- Hottub is not a dating or hookup app. No solicitation.
- You must be 18 or older to participate.
- Real-world Soaks happen at public venues with verified hosts — never private-home meetups arranged through Hottub.
- Follow the law, and your venue’s rules.
What Hottub promises you
No public scores
We don’t rank or score people. There are no public profiles to perform for — your avatar is just a colored circle.
Your conversations stay yours
We earn through relevant, approved sponsorship — a single chip in a room header, never inside your chat and never targeted by who you are.
No selling your data
We never sell your data. We may learn from what’s said to help people connect — never to profile or score you.
Human review when something goes wrong
When something goes wrong, a real person reviews it. Anything involving safety is escalated to our team.
When the covenant is broken
We design for repair, not shame. Most limits are a chance to reset — a quiet word, a mute, time out of a room, or a suspension you can come back from. Serious safety violations are the exception and can lead to permanent removal. Anything involving someone’s safety is escalated to our team for human review.
